Gurnee proclaims January Lake County Crime Stoppers Month

With the start of the New Year 2017 and the close of 2016, Andy Anderson, executive director of Lake County Crime Stoppers, announced that Mayor of Gurnee Kristina Kovarik, has proclaimed January 2017 as Lake County Crime Stoppers Month in the Village of Gurnee.

The nonprofit, crime-fighting organization reminds residents to always be vigilant by reporting crimes or suspicious activity, adding never to confront individuals on their own.

The Lake County Crime Stoppers motto is: See Something, Hear Something, Say Something. And remember, Crime Doesn’t Pay, But Crime Stoppers Does.

Lake County Crime Stoppers routinely offers an award of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Since its founding in 1983, Lake County Crime Stoppers which is strictly funded by private donations, has recovered more than $29.2 million in stolen property and contraband.
