A man and woman, both from Las Vegas, were arrested Aug. 13 by Lake County Sheriff’s deputies after it was alerted by the Apple store in Deer Park about two suspicious people attempting to make purchases.
The store’s loss prevention officials told the sheriff’s office that the pair matched the description of two individuals who committed previous thefts at Apple stores in Schaumburg and Oak Brook.

Deputies spotted the two suspects in a vehicle nearby the store at 20530 North Rand Road and arrested them after finding two stolen Apple drones in their vehicle.
The man and woman were identified by the sheriff’s office as Gregory J. Ganci, 50; and Jeri E. Duncan, 36. Duncan was also found to be in possession of heroin, according to the sheriff’s office.
Ganci was charged with two counts of theft-possession of stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in County Jail on a $75,000 bond with a court hearing set for Aug. 19.

Both are allegedly to have been involved in Apple store thefts in other parts of the country, according to the sheriff’s office. In July, sheriff’s deputies arrested six people from New York on identify theft charges for allegedly attempting to make purchases at the same Deer Park store with counterfeit credit cards.
