Photos by actor, Marine on display at Waukegan Library

Today –  Friday, September 18 at 4:30 p.m. Benjamin Busch will screen his award-winning narrative short film Bright followed by a Q&A at Waukegan Public Library.

The photos hanging in the Waukegan Public Library lobby are haunting.

The subjects and surroundings of the framed collection taken by Marine and decorated war veteran and acclaimed actor Benjamin Busch, taken while he was stationed in Iraq (during two deployments), sparks patrons to pause and look.

Busch who lives in Michigan, is visiting Waukegan until Sunday. He was invited to come as part of the Waukegan ArtWise cultural arts series honoring “Those Who Serve.”

On Wednesday evening, after screening his film Bright at the College of Lake County campus, Busch presented a discussion about his “The Art in War” photography collection to Waukegan Arts Council members at the library.

The Busch photo exhibit opened at the library on Sept. 11 and will be on display through Veteran’s Day November 11.
